The Preservation Resource Center is again offering our First-Time Homebuyer Training course!
Students will emerge from this program prepared to tackle the home purchase process and meet the demands of owning and caring for a home. They will also gain access to a variety of home purchase incentives available exclusively to program graduates and offered by the Finance Authority of New Orleans, the City of New Orleans, and various lending institutions.
Since PRC's Operation Comeback program was implemented in 1987, we've been in the business of helping clients understand what it takes to buy - and renovate - a house. We've learned through experience that many prospective buyers are at a disadvantage when it comes to making wise choices because they're in the dark about the mechanics of buying a house. By taking our Homebuyer Training course, they'll learn about the basics from the pros - and they'll be able to move ahead confidently with their purchase plans. Plus, their completion of this course will qualify them for financial perks that are unavailable to the general public.
Objectives Include:
- Putting Your Financial Affairs in Order
- What's this House Really Worth: Reading Your Appraisal
- Working with a Realtor
- Making the Offer: Reading and Understanding Your Purchase Agreement
- Know Your Rights: Fair Housing Laws
- Home Inspections: More than Meets the Eye
- Come Hell or High Water: Accessing Your Insurance Needs
- How to Get a Loan
- Closing the Deal: Understanding Your Settlement Statement
- When Bad Things Happen to Good Houses: Renovate Right
- So You Own Your Home, What Now?
$50
