New Website Addresses Controversial LSU/VA Medical Complex
PRC supports the renovation of Charity and the preservation of Lower Mid-City.
A new website has been launched to address the controversial plan to build the LSU/VA medical complex and close Charity Hospital. As you may or may not know, LSU is currently pushing a proposal to build a new hospital that would abandon Charity Hospital, destroy an historic neighborhood in Lower Mid-City, and threaten the vitality of downtown New Orleans. PRC supports the RMJM Hiller proposal, which calls for the reuse of the shell of Charity Hospital and the construction of a new hospital within the shell.
The Save Charity Hospital website is very informative and comprehensive. It includes videos and documents and summaries of the issues that are useful tools for those concerned about the proposed medical complex.
