Designed by famed architect James Freret and built in the mid-1890s, this Italianate school building has remained vacant since school was dismissed on Aug. 26, 2005. Hurricane Katrina left the school shuttered for nearly two decades, and time and subsequent storms caused additional damage to the structure. The current renovations, managed by TED Enterprises LLC with the aid of Zach Smith Design and Consulting LLC and Perez, APC as the project architect, will result in apartments with commercial space on the ground floor. The project was made possible by special assistance from Home Bank, Octagon Finance and Rise Impact.

Beams & Brews offers a chance to view the property inside and out, hear from the project’s managers and enjoy free drinks.

The PRC’s Beams & Brews series is generously presented by JLV Construction, with beer provided by Faubourg Brewing.
