Navigating the HDLC Class (POSTPONED)
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the Preservation Resource Center is postponing all of our events and in-person courses this spring. The PRC takes the safety and welfare of our community seriously, and we’re making this step to alleviate any uncertainty during this time. We hope that by rescheduling these events, we will be able to hold them at a time when everyone can participate.
We will look forward to sharing the new dates as they become available. Stay tuned to PRCNO.org and our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages for updates, as well as information about free online classes and other ways to learn about New Orleans historic architecture from home.
April 20 (POSTPONED TO LATER DATE)
12:00 – 1 p.m.
Preservation Resource Center, 923 Tchoupitoulas St.
This free, one-hour class is designed to help property owners understand the Historic District Landmarks Commission (HDLC) and the application process. Taught by HDLC staff, this class will help residents smoothly navigate the application process and prevent common frustrations and pitfalls experienced by some applicants.
The New Orleans and Central Business District Historic District Landmarks Commissions regulate 17 local historic districts and have almost 50,000 structures under their jurisdiction. This class is great for property owners who live in a local historic district and are considering making changes to their homes, or those considering purchasing in a local historic district. The class is held 10 times annually, alternating between lunchtime and evenings each month to make it accessible for different schedules.
