FAQ

What inspired the name?

The pandemic forced PRC to get creative when we couldn’t hold our traditional Julia Jump / Revival Gala. So the Gala-vant was born!

How long do I have to complete the Revival Gala-vant?

Since this is a self-guided, virtual fun run experience, you can complete the routes anytime. The podcasts will be available for download starting April 6. All participants complete the routes at their own risk and are reminded to be mindful of their surroundings at all times and follow CDC guidelines to protect themselves and others from Covid-19. PRC encourages everyone to obey all traffic rules, wear sunscreen, hydrate, and be respectful of neighborhood residents.

Where do I pick up my race bag?

Pick up all race bags and materials during work hours at the PRC, 923 Tchoupitoulas St., beginning April 9. The PRC is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and we will have some weekend open hours to accommodate our participants unable to visit us during the week.

May I go into the buildings featured on the routes?

No, the routes are designed for exterior viewing only, except in the case of public spaces, which are listed with their open times.

Are the routes friendly for families and my four-legged running companion?

PRC has made every effort to produce routes that are accessible for pedestrians and cyclists (and kayakers on the Bayou St. John route), but participants must do the routes at their own risk and be mindful of their own fitness levels. One route is specifically designed for families with children.

Your PRC at work
The Revival Gala-vant supports the important work of the PRC. Its mission is to preserve New Orleans’ historic architecture, neighborhoods and cultural identity through collaboration, empowerment and service to our community. Founded in 1974, PRC is a non-profit organization that has restored more than 1,500 properties citywide and has assisted countless individuals with their own renovation efforts through its educational programs and workshops.
