The PRC’s Cultural Heritage Program promotes the preservation of our heritage through education, community awareness, and advocacy. It also focuses on identifying and preserving the homes and cultural legacy of New Orleans jazz musicians.
A database of over 500 early jazz musicians’ landmarks has been created and 60 of their homes have been marked with plaques. Additionally, the PRC and its partners have restored the former homes of Edward “Kid” Ory, Henry “Red” Allen and Kid Sheik Colar.
