My Home in-school Residency Program is an award winning interdisciplinary set of lessons and field trips that can be presented on their own or in packages up to 7 lessons, plus a Career Day.
The program combines slideshows, activities, performances, and guided tours to teach 4th—8th grade students about the historic architecture, neighborhoods, and culture of New Orleans.
Since 2009, this Heritage Education program has reached over 1,600 students in Orleans Parish schools. Awards for the program include a Citation of Merit from the American Architectural Foundation, and an Education award from the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation for broadening the understanding of the importance of preserving Louisiana’s History.
