We need your help to return Buddy Bolden’s house as a neighborhood asset!

2309 First St., the c.1880 house in Central City where jazz pioneer Buddy Bolden once lived, has been boarded up and vacant for years.

PJ Morton, the Grammy-winning solo artist and keyboardist for Maroon 5, plans to restore this humble shotgun home into a small museum dedicated to Bolden’s life and the influence of his music. Next door, he plans to renovate the twin shotgun house into a recording studio and workshop space where young musicians can learn the business side of the industry.

Donations made here will support Buddy’s House Foundation – a nonprofit formed by PJ Morton – to restore the historic house and honor the legacy of Jazz’s founding father.
