SUMMARY:Travel with the PRC: Explore the Architecture and Culture of New Orleans
DESCRIPTION:Explore New Orleans with the PRC\n\n\n\nThe Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans and Project Por Amor have partnered to create a one-of-a-kind\, seven-day insider’s exploration of New Orleans. This extraordinary collaboration brings together our collective expertise in transformative cultural travel with five decades of preservation advocacy and deep community connections across New Orleans’ historic neighborhoods. \n\n\n\nAn Insiders Journey Through the Crescent City\n\n\n\nOur journey combines architectural heritage\, exclusive concerts\, celebrated restaurants\, and stories of urban renewal – offering access to spaces\, sounds\, flavors\, and perspectives rarely available to typical visitors. Highlights include dinner with acclaimed food critic Ian McNulty\, discussions with Tulane urban geographer Richard Campanella\, and engaging conversations with neighborhood advocates who have shaped the city’s evolution. Guests will also enjoy behind-the-scenes access to legendary institutions like M.S. Rau Antiques and the Napoleon House\, private studio jazz performances\, and a Vietnamese dining experience on the West Bank. \n\n\n\nNew Orleans has long been recognized as the birthplace of jazz and the heartbeat of American music. In 2025\, this cultural legacy received a new honor: Creative City for Music by UNESCO.\n\n\n\nA Cultural and Educational Experience\n\n\n\nMore than sightseeing\, this is an immersive educational journey into the heart of America’s most culturally rich city. New Orleans is the backbone of our shared culture – come experience it through the eyes of those who know it best\, understand its struggles\, and are actively shaping its future. \n\n\n\nThis custom-designed trip will offer access to the best of New Orleans’ cultural and historic treasures\, with an emphasis on architecture and history.
