The Free People of Color Who Built Antebellum New Orleans

On exhibit Oct. 6-Nov. 16; Opening reception Oct. 6, 7-9 p.m., at PRC, 923 Tchoupitoulas St.
Based on research by University of Texas at Austin professor and professional architectural historian Tara A. Dudley, this exhibit showcases the Dolliole and Soulie families as examples of the myriad gen de couleur libres families who built and owned properties throughout New Orleans in the mid-19th century. The exhibit and opening reception are presented by the PRC in partnership with the New Orleans Master Crafts Guild.
