This session will introduce you to the itinerary, cultural experiences, neighborhood highlights, and behind-the-scenes access that make this trip unlike any typical visit to New Orleans.
You’ll get an overview of the journey’s signature experiences — from exclusive concerts and private architectural tours to dinners with renowned cultural figures like food critic Ian McNulty, conversations with urban geographer Richard Campanella, and meetings with neighborhood advocates who have shaped the city’s evolution. We’ll also share details about behind-the-scenes access to legendary institutions such as M.S. Rau Antiques, Napoleon House, private jazz studio performances, and a Vietnamese culinary experience on the West Bank.
More than sightseeing, this trip is an immersive cultural and educational journey into the heart of America’s most historically and musically significant city — newly honored in 2025 as a UNESCO Creative City for Music. Designed with a focus on architecture, history, and community, the program includes accommodations, transportation, and two meals daily.
