PreserveNOLA300 – Photo Exhibition with “the.preservationist”, Opening Reception
Join us at the PRC for a First Saturday Art Walk evening reception and the debut photo exhibit of local Instagram celebrity @the.preservationist – aka Jennifer Hance – whose passion for capturing New Orleans’ historic architecture on her Instagram has garnered national attention.
This event is free and open to the public. Wine and light snacks will be served.
The exhibit will kick off the PRC’s exciting slate of events and exhibits this year to celebrate our city’s Tricentennial Year. Hance will also be serving as a judge of the #preserveNOLA300 photo contest.
The 300-year-old New Orleans we know and love continues to thrive because of preservation, but it’s not only about the buildings – it’s about the stories of the people who shape our city and its historic neighborhoods. In New Orleans, living amongst architectural treasures big and small is a way of life: we live in vibrant historic communities, we are inspired by historic architecture, and we continue to take part in centuries-old traditions that define who we are as New Orleanians.
How do you fit into our city’s 300-year history? What are the places that make you proud to be in New Orleans?
Show us by posting your best photos of our historic city on Instagram with the hashtag #preserveNOLA300 to let us know why New Orleans is your home and the best place in the world to visit. What is your favorite historic building or neighborhood? Where do you dream of exploring? What’s the one-of-a-kind streetscape that keeps you inspired?
Your entries will be included in a summer exhibit at the PRC, with special judges selecting the best photos for prizes.
