The New Orleans City Planning Commission will take public comment on two short-term rental items, on Tuesday, July 10, beginning at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.

The first item establishes an Interim Zoning District that places a temporary prohibition on the issuance and renewal of most Temporary licenses and some Commercial licenses. The second item directs the City Planning department to conduct a study on the impact of short-term rentals in the city.

These two measures are important next steps in reducing the unintended consequences of short-term rentals on the residential fabric of the city.

You also can submit written comments to the Commission until 5 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2018, via email at cpcinfo@nola.gov. Make sure your voice is heard.

The PRC remains in opposition to non-owner-occupied whole home rentals in our residential neighborhoods and supports sensible measures to limit the negative impacts of short-term rental proliferation across the city.
