Rebuilding Together New Orleans was excited to kick off this year’s October Build in Gentilly this past weekend with partner Chevron, and local news station WWL was there to cover it. See the segment here.
Volunteers with Chevron worked to rebuild Ms. Nora’s porch, and caulk and paint her new siding. She was grateful for the work. “Oh yes indeed. I’m really thankful. I’m really glad, as you can tell by the way I’m smiling. I’m really glad,” she told the news crew.
This is RTNO’s 504th house repaired since Hurricane Katrina. Over 500 volunteers will work to repair eight more homes over the next two weekends.
Thank you Chevron for helping making Ms. Nora’s house a home once more!
