Bridge to Crafts Careers, B2CC, a program of the World Monuments Fund and Preservation Resource Center, addresses the growing need for experienced craftspeople through technical training in cemeteries and job placement opportunities in historic trades to students in the United States.
In 2025, the PRC partnered with Heather Veneziano of Tulane University to pilot B2CC in historic St. Louis Cemetery no. 2. This two-week program focused on stone tablet restoration, historic ironwork, and an introduction to brick and plaster masonry.
In 2026, B2CC will expand to ten weeks, over the course of which, paid participants receive safety training and certifications and learn a range of skills including masonry and ironwork repair through hands-on cemetery restoration.
Participants will restore brick and plaster tombs in historic St. Louis Cemetery no. 2, visit cultural institutions and construction projects across the city, and make connections with employers in the trades.
This program is designed for people interested in careers in construction trades. Participants must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in Louisiana and are expected to attend all ten weeks between September and November 2026.
The first ten-week cohort will launch in Fall 2026! Sign up to learn more and be notified when applications go live.
