Annie Agnone

Annie Agnone is a storyteller, educator, and artist with more than a decade of experience overseeing education programs designed to foster curiosity, connection, and a deeper sense of place. Before joining the Preservation Resource Center, Annie served as director of the Storytellers Collective at the National Geographic Society, launched Atlas Obscura Courses, designed and led high school travel programs for Putney Student Travel, and partnered with The New York Times to launch New York Times Student Journeys. Annie holds an MFA in creative writing from The University of Alabama, where she taught writing in a range of settings, including undergraduate classrooms and prison education programs. Her writing has appeared in McSweeney’s, The Rumpus, and elsewhere. In 2013, she received a grant from National Geographic to document what people do at night across the United States. In her free time Annie loves being in nature and biking long distances, and is part of the organizing team for the New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival.
