New Orleans City Councilmember LaToya Cantrell was on hand today to celebrate the 500th home completed by Rebuilding Together New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.

Before the official ribbon cutting ceremony, Cantrell read from a proclamation by the City of New Orleans thanking Rebuilding Together New Orleans and the Preservation Resource Center for “improving the quality of low-income homeowners through home repair and the revitalization of New Orleans neighborhoods.”

The proclamation, which is also signed by Council President Jason Rogers Williams, Vice President Stacy Head, and Councilmembers Susan Guidry, Nadine Ramsey, Jared Brossett, and James Gray, officially declares Friday, October 9, 2015, a day to commemorate the 500th home completed by RTNO and the 25th anniversary of the October Build.
