St. Alphonsus stands as a dual testament to the Irish settlers who populated the area in the 1800s and to the dedicated parishioners who saved the historic building from the wrecking ball in 1989.

Liz Jurey photographed the breathtakingly stunning building, which features priceless frescoes by Antonio Canova and a treasure trove of antique stained glass windows dating back to 1889.
