The PRC has created a Hurricane Relief Fund to provide free storm repairs for homeowners in need. The fund serves low-income homeowners whose houses are located in a national, state or local historic district in New Orleans. (See map for qualified areas.) While the PRC launched this initiative in the wake of Hurricane Ida, the organization also assisted with Hurricane Zeta repairs last year, thanks to the generosity of the Regions Foundation.

Hurricane repair work may include roof replacement, siding repair, gutter repair, window and door repair and other needs. Work will consist of exterior repairs to properties, prioritizing the need to make homes watertight. When possible, PRC will partner with other agencies to make interior repairs possible.

TO QUALIFY, HOMEOWNERS MUST:
  • Own their home;
  • Earn 80 percent AMI or less;
  • Live in a designated local historic district, state cultural district or National Register Historic District in New Orleans;
  • The home must be 50 years old or older.

To find out if you qualify, or to apply for assistance, please call the PRC at 504.581.7032.
