The Preservation Resource Center is saddened by the sudden and untimely passing of music legend Allen Toussaint.
Always kind, gracious, and elegant, the enormously talented songwriter, musician, and producer supported the PRC in numerous ways over the years.
Toussaint performed at our annual Ladies in Red gala, where he was also honored for his contributions to New Orleans music and culture.
Toussaint also headlined the Jazzed in January: New Yorkers Rebuilding New Orleans event on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Hearst Tower in New York City.
Photographer Neil Alexander captured several amazing photos of Toussaint in action that night, and the above picture is how the PRC will always remember him.
