How does my ticket to the Holiday Home Tour work this year?

The 2020 Holiday Home Tour is a virtual event, so you will not receive a paper ticket. Instead, the week of the tour you will receive an email with a link and a password to access the videos on each of the featured homes.

 

What is the deadline for purchasing tickets?

The tour will be available on our website from December 12-31 and tickets may still be purchased after the tour goes live through the end of the month.

 

When will I receive my ticket to the tour?

  • All tickets purchased before 9:00am on Friday, December 11 will receive their ticket (link and password) via e-mail during the day on Friday, December 11.
  • Tickets purchased between 9:00am on Friday, December 11 and 9:00am on Saturday, December 12 will receive their ticket via e-mail by 10:00am on Saturday, December 12
  • Tickets purchased between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday, December 12 or Sunday, December 13 will be sent by e-mail within 30 minutes of purchase.
  • Tickets purchased between 5:00pm Saturday and 9:00am Sunday will be sent via e-mail by 10:00am on Sunday, December 13.
  • All tickets purchased after 5:00pm on Sunday, December 13 and through the end of December will be sent by 10:00am the morning following ticket purchase.

 

How do I watch the videos?

Online ticket-holders will receive an email with the link and password to access the Holiday Home Tour videos during the week of Dec. 7-11, 2020. All tour videos will be available to watch beginning on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. Patron Party ticket-holders will receive early access to the tour videos, beginning on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.

 

Do I have to watch all of the videos on the weekend of Dec. 12-13, 2020?

No. All home tour videos will be available for viewing from Dec. 12 through Dec. 31, 2020. Patron Party ticket-holders will have viewing access to the videos from Dec. 11 through Dec. 31, 2020.

 

What is the format for the tour? Is it one long video or multiple short ones?

The tour features six homes. Each home will be the focus of a 20- to 25-minute video. You may watch the videos in any order.

 

Can I re-watch a video? How many days/how many times can I watch each one?

Yes, you may re-watch videos as many times as you’d like until Dec. 31, 2020.

 

Will all the videos be available at once or released one at a time?

All tour videos will be released at once, and they will be available for viewing from Dec. 12 to Dec. 31, 2020. Patron Party ticket-holders receive early access to the tours beginning on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.

 

Are the video tours live or pre-recorded?

The tour videos have been professionally filmed and produced by Calm Dog Productions. Each video features a personal tour of the house with the homeowners. The tour highlights the house’s history and unique features of the architecture and the neighborhood.

 

What time do I tune into the video?

You can watch the home tour videos anytime, day or night, from Dec. 12-31, 2020. Patron Party ticket-holders receive early access to the tours beginning on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.

 

What neighborhoods are the houses in?

Houses featured on this year’s Holiday Home Tour are located in the Bywater, Faubourg St. John, French Quarter and Uptown.

 

Are the Holiday Home Tour videos only available for two days?

All tour videos will be available for viewing from Dec. 12 through Dec. 31, 2020.

 

Is the Holiday Home Tour a live event?

No, the 2020 Holiday Home Tour is a pre-recorded virtual event.

 

Can I view the videos more than once?

Yes, with your link and password, you may view the home tour videos as many times as you would like until Dec. 31, 2020.

 

Is the Tour on Zoom?

No. The Holiday Home Tour is professionally filmed and produced by Calm Dog Productions. Zoom will solely be used for the Virtual Patron Party on Dec. 11, 2020. You will watch the home tour videos on your computer, smart phone or other internet-capable device.

 

What are the hardware/software requirements to view the virtual Holiday Home Tour?

You will need a web browser to access the webpage that is hosting the Holiday Home Tour videos and the ability to type in the password that will unlock the videos.

 

Can I watch the tour videos via the YouTube App on my SmartTV or my TV connected to a streaming device, such as Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, etc.?

While the videos are not accessible via smart TV apps, ticket-holders can broadcast to their TV via streaming devices (Apple TV, ROKU, Firestick, Chromecast etc.). Please refer to your streaming device’s help page for technical help with streaming to your TV from your phone, tablet or computer.

 

I usually pick up a copy of Preservation In Print magazine at the Holiday Home Tour. Can I get a copy of the December issue sent to me this year?

Yes. We are mailing a copy of Preservation In Print to anyone who purchased a ticket to the Holiday Home Tour this year. If you purchased your Holiday Home Tour ticket before November 17 (our print deadline), you will receive a copy of Preservation In Print delivered to your mailbox during the first week of December. If you purchased your ticket to the tour after November 17, you will receive a copy in the mail after mid-December.

 

Is there a way to submit questions to the PRC or the tour homeowners after the tour?

Yes, Patron Party ticket-holders will have direct access to some of our homeowners during the live Virtual Patron Party. You may submit questions to our homeowners in the Virtual Patron Party Zoom chat. You may email PRC questions at Tour@prcno.org.

 

Who do I contact for technical support?

Limited technical support is available via email, Tour@prcno.org, or by calling 504-636-3384 on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

Can I purchase tour tickets as a gift for someone else?

Yes. To purchase tickets as a gift, select the “Give a Holiday Home Tour Ticket” option when purchasing tickets, and you will be prompted to enter the recipient’s e-mail address. Holiday Home Tour tickets make a perfect holiday gift because the tour can be watched from anywhere in the world! We will only send the link and password to the e-mail address you provide to us, so please be sure to let your gift recipient know this gift is from you.

 

How will my gift tickets get to my friends?

Please provide the gift recipient’s email address. We will email them the link to the
holiday home tour.

 

I never received my ticket e-mail, what should I do?

First, check your email’s spam and junk folders to see if your ticket landed there. If it is not there, please contact tour@prcno.org and someone will follow up with you.

 

Can I purchase tickets the weekend of the Holiday Home Tour?

Yes. “Day of” tickets will be distributed according to the following schedule.

Tickets bought:

  • Between 5:00pm on 12/11 and 10:00am on 12/12 – Sent by 10:00am on 12/12
  • Between 10:00am on 12/12 and 5:00pm on 12/12 – Sent within 15 minutes of purchase
  • Between 5:00pm on 12/12 and 10:00am on 12/13 – Sent by 10:00am on 12/13
  • Between 10:00am on 12/12 and 5:00pm on 12/12 – Sent within 15 minutes of purchase
  • After 5:00pm on 12/12 – Sent by 10:00am on Monday, 12/14
